Shhhooooooo is it over?

We finally booked our flights for March and all I have to say is ouch.

My B as Jamie at work would say. I should have booked it two weeks ago when it was $100 per person cheaper.  Oh well nothing I can do about that now. At least its not trying to get us to fly out of Dublin at 5am. Yeah that wouldn't happen considering it's a 3 hour drive to the airport.

I'm still excited though our bank account just dropped more than I like.

Anywho. (hows that for an obvious change of subject)

I think all of our Christmas shindigs are over. Yay! I love to spend time with family but I need a break from it all, maybe a few weekends where we aren't running everywhere to see everybody (the only exception is when Erin has her baby but don't tell Aaron).

I'm going into hibernation status as of Friday at 5pm (which by the way is my last day at UM woohoo for me).

Chloe's still recovering from present overload. She sees one thing goes to play with it then runs to the next within seconds. If only we could rewind a few weeks ago when her whole joy revolved around playing birthday cake with her stuffed animals (wait we did that tonight too after she 'baked' brownies and donuts in her little oven it's all wooden toys don't anyone worry about a 20 month old playing with a real oven).

I think I'm about to hide some of the gifts for a while and they'll be new all over again after she chills for a little bit. (aka Chloe's being a bossy brat she's mine I can say that but no one else can, I'm just saying).

I think she's beginning those terrible twos I've heard so much about....

Oh by the way did I mention I only have 2 more days of work left! (and probably a whole weekend worth of taking down of the 4 trees, and all the decorations that finally made it out last friday).

Goodnight everyone!

So birthdays are suppose to be a happy day and Aaron normally takes full advantage of his. He gets out of doing everything by saying ' it's my birthday'.

This year was different he said it a few times but definitely not the usually 50 million times. For him it was a sad day because the person who gave birth to him passed away this past February. Cindy would go out of her way to make whatever food dish he wanted and she would put up decoration s and balloons to make it his special day.

He tried real hard to make it a good day but I could tell in his eyes that it was a day he wanted to be over.

It's hard to imagine not having my mom here for my birthday and I can't say I'd be any different of I was in the same position.

It's still sad because I know that they only person who could have made his day better can't be here for him.

We're going to Ireland!! oh and it's almost Christmas!!!

So I'm super stoked Aaron and I are going to Ireland in March.... bad news it'll probably be cold.

The hardest things is that we'll have to leave Chloe here. Thank goodness for my super awesome mom who so kindly volunteered to watch her. (I guess that means I'll need to get her something nice maybe from waterford or some thing cheaper) lol

Thank goodness for groupon emails and me being super excited enough to tell Aaron what I saw!

This is where we're staying

Also did you know it's almost Christmas (and my birthday). I guess I need to finish my shopping this weekend. I'm kind of not looking forward to all the running around but at least the hard part will be done.

Aaron and I did learn though that we need to buy things when we see them on sale for Chloe instead of putting it off otherwise we have to get her something else, sigh.

Woohoo it's the most wonderful time of the year and for a girl with a headache I feel like I have too much energy but none at all at the same time. Goodnight everyone!

My News

So my news I was alluding to last night...

I put in my two weeks notice today.. it turned into a four week notice (know of anyone looking for a customer service job in Nash?). My boss asked me to stay until the end of the month otherwise people would loose their vacation. I don't want people loosing their vacation around the holidays and for the most part I like my co-workers and I want them to be happy (with the exception of one who I avoid speaking to because the next time he says it's not my job I'll find a way to smack him through the stupid walkie).

I like my job it's not hard but I have a whole lot to do and to remember but Aaron offered for me to work with him and learn to do his books. I look forward to learning it and having him teach me to sew (going to be scary I always envision fingers being sewn through, ouch).

Also it means potentially more time with Chloe (depending on the work that comes in) and the creative outlet I'd prefer to have.

See I told you I wasn't pregnant just making a change for the better after January 1st.

The rest of this month isn't going to be very productive at work because if they complain I'll just say whatever I can leave now ;)

I'm happy with this decision we trust me we thought this through every way we could I think we can do it.

Also on a side note its nice to come home and fine Chloe and her Grandad Mike laying on the floor surrounded by toys and her trying to sing happy birthday over her little wooden cake (she just says haaappy haaappy haaappy and makes the stuffed animals dance).

Goodnight everyone!

Cookie Saturday is always fun

We had our yearly cookie day Saturday. Technically it was more like candy day because we only made 3 types of cookies and 4 types of candy because I didn't feel like fighting over the oven.

This is the first time I've ever made caramels (I wasn't so confident they'd turn out). I got around to wrapping them up tonight and Chloe wanted to watch so I pulled her up a chair to the counter. It didn't take to long for me to realize she didn't want to watch she wanted to help. She reached with her little hands grabbed a piece of wax paper and a caramel and proceeded to squash it in the paper then hand it to me. (Her master pieces are below and beside that are the one's I'll be sharing).

Then after that she squashed a piece in her hand and just kept on and I look down to find little hands covered in carmel. I can't stand sticky stuff on my hands so I made Aaron come down stairs and wash her hands lol

Lucky for my family next weekend and my co-workers tomorrow I have lots of chocolatey goodness!

Oh by the way I may have some interesting news tomorrow something Aaron and I have been discussing for a week now (no I'm not pregnant and no we have no plans on having another one anytime soon, besides everyone is pregnant now)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

My first try..

I've never blogged before *gasp* and I'm not sure how well this will go so I guess I'll just dive right in.

So I was driving back to TN after Thanksgiving in KY and was thinking about which way the bridge over Kentucky Lake would fall. I thought to myself 'I should blog about this' why I thought that I'm not sure.

Now to explain the bridge thing a little more.. Every time we go over the bridges at land between the lakes Aaron and I always ask each other that question.

For the record they were pulling right today.

If you know these bridges I speak of then you know what I mean. If not they're rusted and look like they're about to fall apart. But if you know what way they're gonna fall you can have a plan of how you're going to get yourself and the baby out of the car. Just don't mind the temperature of the lakes this time of year.

I guess I should look into buying the window breaking thingys so we can actually get out... don't judge me....

But the good news is they didn't fall today. To be honest one has been hit by a barge and is still standing so they look worse than they really are

We made it home fine it was overall and uneventful drive back and we got 1 1/2 trees up tonight. Though we cheated the 1 tree we found in the attic from the previous owner and it's pre-decorated. Woot!

(Hey now we combined 2 households worth of stuff and we each had 2 trees so be glad I don't have 5 trees because I could, I have enough stuff for it).

I hope everyone enjoyed putting up they're stuff for the holidays if thats something you do.

Have a good weekend!
